Negative campaign?

Am I reading this nonsense right? Is Rose Albano-Risso trying to tell us that Mayor Sayles is responsible for the terrible "negative campaign" in Lathrop? Are my eyes deceiving me? Did she actually write that? And the paper printed it?

Doesn't Risso realize that just the fact that kristysales.com was created by someone other than "Kristy Sayles" indicates that it's not the Mayor doing the "sleazy" campaign? Ms. Risso here's a clue for you: If a website uses someone's name as the URL, and it's really made by someone else that alone is dishonest. Did you ever explain this to the readers?

Is the sleazy campaign the mayor's fault? For a trivial comment? Is it reasonable to draw some moral equivalence between the things said to Sayles and what she said? That's a joke and a double standard.

Maybe you're confused. Take out a paper and write down the things that the people campaigning for Oliver have called the Mayor, then write down the things Mayor Sayles has said.

Under the "Oliver campaign" you can list the following:
  • Criminal!
  • Liar!
  • falsified documents
  • bigamist!
  • child abuser!
  • husband beater!
  • Irresponsible!
  • called "whore" or "slut" (translated from Spanish)
  • Adulterous!
  • she's divorced!
  • Improper illegal business practices!
  • no business license!
  • Destroys people's lives, dictator, reign of terror!
All of which is either false or malicious/vindictive/reckless interpretation. And I mean all. Someone I'm sure will point to the "criminal conviction." Sure thing, a $370 fine 'cause her bank closed her account before somene got paid. Admitted mistake and paid same fine as rolling through a right turn at a red light. If that's the definition of "criminal" then you're a criminal and I'm a criminal. Anyone who ever got a traffic ticket has a "criminal conviction" so if that's you, you're "a criminal."

Under the Sayles campaign you can list:
  • Said someone was a "waterboy for the developers" (who are funding the smear website and despicable campaign of lies)
  • Called developers "greedy" and said they want to use the City of Lathrop like their personal ATM machine
Oh my stars how terrible! I don't know how anyone could stoop so low as to say someone is a "waterboy." I sure hope Mr. Oliver, I'm sorry Reverend Oliver, no I'm sorry Professor Oliver will somehow survive the onslaught of negativity! And now calling developers greedy constitutes a negative campaign too? Are they running for office?

How well has that or any of these articles served to inform the voting public about the issues? Zero!

Mr. Wyatt, editor of the Manteca Bulletin, you have a newspaper to straighten out.

They're running to get someone out of office. TCN Properties (Tom and Cathie Luckey) sent out their own fancy flyer that arrived with the rest of the election junk mail. It tells the citizens of Lathrop what wonderful things TCN has done for the community.

There's big bucks behind kristysayles.com and the mailers that don't endorse any specific candidate and say "Vote Against Kristy Sayles." Those flyers came from "California Taxpayers Protection Committee," political whores who sell their services to anyone with the money to pay them. Who do you think paid them?

  2. That is a funny statement Jackie. what would you call your own site then? Every story is slanted in favor of Kristy. What kind of journalism do you write? It is not journalism, it is just a small time blog that cannot think outside of their small box. Then you get mad at the Bulletin for actually printing an objective piece. You are just upset because it is not in favor of your friend Kristy. You never mention her being married to Tom twice. Was that a youthful mistake. Mabey we are all guilty of being married twice to the same man- on two different occasions because we have all ran a stop sign. Get a life, or a better cause than saving poor little Kristy.

  3. What funny statement did I make? We're not in business as a newspaper, nor do we claim to be unbiased. Manteca Live is a "blog" just as you said. We're not competing with the newspapers. We just present another view of the stories out there and give our opinions which we can freely do since we're not beholden to any advertisers or special interest groups. It's our contribution to putting out another view of things you might not hear elsewhere and we don't object to anyone posting their views as well, even if they are in direct opposition to ours. We believe in open dialogue.

Newspapers of general record in a community usually strive for some kind of balance. The reporting of "news" stories by Rose Albano-Risso have been the most unbalanced pieces I've ever read in the Bulletin. Guess there's a new boss and a new attitude at the Bulletin these days.

  4. A traffic infraction is not a criminal violation. It's administrative, sorry to burst your bubble.

  6. Britney Spears was just put on trial for a traffic violation. She was facing 6 months in prison! But the jury found her not guilty.

People like "us" love to think we are superior, that our "crimes" aren't really as bad as someone else's "crimes." But if the fine is $370 for one "crime" and if the fine for a red light violation is $371 then what does that suggest about the severity of these "crimes?"

The definition of "administrative" is that you don't go to court or have any right to a trial. (Administrative issues are decided by "the administrator" oddly enough, not a court.)

But since you do go to court for traffic charges, a fully functioning legal court with a judge and a jury if you demand it, it is not "administrative." Traffic crimes are usually minor -- that's why they only have a small fine. Just like the fine Sayles paid for her "crime." Which is the point.

  7. And some crimes you do not get prosecuted for. Like being married to the same guy twice, once while still being married to your almost ex...

  8. Dear Readers,
I would marry my wife every day of the week. I love her and so what if I married her twice. I marry her every day I decide to love her and be her husband. As the good Lord has commanded, "Husbands love your wife as Christ loved the Church,"(that's me anyway I'm part of it).It is unconditional love, unconditional acceptance, unconditional forgiveness, and understanding (to name a few).I am no better than my wife. Just put any good thing in that sentence in reference to the good things she deserves.
As to the Laura Thimler commentaries in the articles written by Albano Risso. The perspectives written would cause one to think that Risso is on the staff of the SEIU or TCN Properties. I have never seen a more biased writer in memory. Risso lacks the professionalism to write an unbiased article and provide the reader with a semblence of the truth. Such as when she calls at 10:30 PM looking for a comment, when she knew the Mayor had retired for the evening and then tells the reader she asked for a comment but got none on previous occasions.
As for Laura Thimler, she needs to go back to Steve McKee's home in the foothills where she is hiding after abandoning her children in Lathrop. I wonder why Albano Risso does not clarify the relationship of the former Mayor McKee to the former City employee Thimler? Probably because it would illucidate the nature of Thimler's motives, character, and deception. If one looks into how Thimler became an employee, it would explain the unethical manner in which she used the City to gain health benefits.
I just don't have any understanding of how a person (Thimler)looks down her nose when she engages in child abandonment. Of course, in Steve McKee's words, his advice to Mayor Sayles was," Kristy you should be willing to sacrifice your family to be a good Mayor". Maybe this was the advice Thimler and McKee were suggesting she take. In a conversation with Steve, he admitted to me that,"Laura did say, I am going to destroy her". Steve was present at the conversation when Laura Thimler called the Mayor.Of course, former Mayor McKee when asked by me in my home, "Why he was so angry at Mayor Sayles? said this, "Because she asks me for advice and then doesn't do what I say." It is not hard to understand the vanity and ego this man possesses and why he has treated his niece in such a dispicable manner. What an Uncle the Mayor has? Vipers.
As to the "Webmaster" Jeremy Maurer, you sir are a civil racketeer in North Carolina and in every state you set your foot. You have repeatedly lied to the public and to all that read your website. There is no truth in you. There is no good in you. A child of darkness. Breaking into political information? Not quite, you have engaged in this so long you can't tell the difference between right and wrong. And your motivation as stated by you,"money". And now the plaintiffs' attorney is chasing you in California.

    Sincerely,
    Thomas Sayles
Husband to a wonderful woman and incidentally, Mayor of Lathrop

  10. Here's an image:

When Kristy was just 1 year old laying in a crib, Tom was at the liquor store buying beer.

Tom did you ever babysit Kristy? Aren't you actually older than her dad?
